Hand Off Overview

Delivery

  • Coordinate a safe time and location for the exchange that works for both parties!

    • Generally the renter will go to the owners apartment to pick up the item from either them or their doorman

  • Once the item is received, it needs to be marked as delivered on Pickle. If a renter hasn't marked an item as delivered, shoot them a message as a reminder!

Return

  • Coordinate a safe time and location for the exchange that works for both parties!

  • Once the item is returned, it needs to be marked as returned on Pickle to end the rental. If an owner hasn't marked an item as returned, shoot them a message as a reminder!

  • If you are having trouble coordinating a return, you can view the other return options by clicking "Change" next to the Return Method on the order page. Check out the options here!

Hand-Off Best Practices

  • Try to meet in a public place

  • Make sure to hand the item to the other person. Pickle is not liable for any items left unattended during the exchange

  • For personal safety, use the Pickle app to communicate the exchange

  • Discuss the return of the item before the scheduled return date to ensure you're able to get the item back to the Owner within the rental window

  • If you are at the exchange location and can't reach the other person, please message Pickle so we can give them a call

  • Remember to be flexible as everyone has busy schedules :)

Best Used When

  • You and an owner live nearby! You can see the distance between you and an owner on the Delivery Options page when submitting an offer

  • You have time in your schedule to meet for the exchange

  • You live outside of the Owners delivery radius to have a courier deliver
