Star Closet Badges

Star Closet badge: requirements, how stats like on-time shipping, cancellations, reviews and response time are calculated, monthly timing, and where to view your stats.

What is a Star Closet?

Star Closet is a monthly badge that recognizes Pickle's most reliable lenders. It's earned by meeting a set of performance standards over a full calendar month, plus completing a few profile basics. The first Star Closet badges were awarded on October 1, 2026, based on September activity.

You may have heard it called "Star Lender" before. The official name is now Star Closet, and it uses a new set of requirements, so a closet that held the old Star Lender badge isn't automatically a Star Closet.

What it means for renters and buyers: a Star Closet badge tells you this lender has a track record of responding quickly, shipping on time, keeping cancellations low and getting great reviews. You'll see the badge on their closet page, on their item pages and next to their username.

What it means for lenders: the badge is shown to renters and buyers across the app, helping your closet stand out. We're also adding ways for shoppers to find Star Closets more easily, including a Star Closet filter and home and shop collections, which are coming soon.

Renters and buyers only see whether you have the badge. Your Star Closet tracking (like your on-time shipping and cancellation numbers against each goal) is only visible to you.

Requirements

To earn Star Closet you need to meet every requirement below. There are two parts: profile basics and monthly performance.

Profile basics

These must all be in place for your closet to earn or show the badge:

  1. A profile picture uploaded.

  2. A complete, public fit profile. This means a height entered, at least one size selected in Sizes & Style, and your fit profile set to public. Favorite brands and other measurements (weight, bust, waist and so on) are not required.

  3. At least 3 active items listed in your closet.

A linked social account (Instagram, TikTok or Pinterest) is not required right now.

Monthly performance

These are measured over one full calendar month, in your local time.

Stat

Star Closet goal

Active items

3 or more active items in your closet

Successful transactions

3 or more in the month (rentals and purchases combined)

Expiration rate

8% or less, OR 2 or fewer expired requests

Cancellation rate

2% or less, OR 2 or fewer cancellations by you. For closets with more than 100 orders in the month, 5% or less

Reviews

95% or more of your reviews are 4 stars or higher, OR 2 or fewer reviews below 4 stars

Offer Response time

60 minutes or less (9am to 9pm your local time)

On-time shipping

80% or more of shipped orders on time, OR 1 or fewer late shipments. Doesn't apply if you didn't ship anything

Several goals have an "OR" option. You only need to meet one side of it. This protects smaller closets, where one bad experience could otherwise swing a percentage a lot.

How each stat is calculated

Every stat is counted by calendar month (the 1st through the last day), using your local time based on your zip code. Here's exactly what counts toward each one.

Active items

The number of distinct active listings in your closet. This is checked at midnight on the 1st of the month, when badges are awarded. Make sure you have at least 3 active items live at that moment. Paused, archived or removed listings don't count.

Successful transactions

Rentals and purchases combined.

  • Rentals count in the month the rental starts. A rental counts once it's confirmed, and continues to count through to being returned.

  • Purchases count in the month the order was placed. A purchase counts once it's confirmed, in progress or completed.

  • Cancelled orders don't count as successful transactions.

Expiration rate

The share of rental requests sent to you that expired because they weren't accepted or declined in time. Requests count in the month they were sent. You meet the goal if 8% or fewer of your requests expired, or if you had 2 or fewer expired requests in total.

Cancellation rate

The share of your orders that you, as the lender, cancelled. Cancellations count in the month they happened.

  • Cancellations made by the renter or buyer don't count against you.

  • If you ask Pickle Support to cancel an order on your behalf, it still counts as a lender cancellation.

  • If Pickle cancels an order itself (for example, for a trust and safety reason), it doesn't count against you.

  • You meet the goal if your rate is 2% or less, or you had 2 or fewer lender cancellations.

  • High-volume closets: if you had more than 100 orders in the month, the goal is 5% or less. Your Closet stats screen may still show the 2% goal for now, but you're evaluated against 5%. We're updating the app to show this.

Reviews

Based on reviews you received in the month, counted by the date the review was left. You meet the goal if 95% or more of those reviews are 4 or 5 stars, or if you received 2 or fewer reviews below 4 stars. Your stats screen shows the percentage. If you had no reviews that month, this doesn't count against you.

Response time

How quickly you reply to offers from renters and buyers. Only offers that arrive between 9am and 9pm your local time count, so overnight offers won't hurt you. You meet the goal if your response time is 60 minutes or less, or if you had fewer than 3 offers that needed a response that month.

This is separate from the Fast Responder badge, which uses a rolling 28-day window and different rules. You can be a Star Closet without being a Fast Responder, and the other way around.

On-time shipping

The share of your shipped orders that you sent on time.

  • What counts as on time: your package gets its first scan (your drop-off scan or the carrier's acceptance scan, whichever is earlier) by the end of your ship-by date. Generating a label ahead of time will not count.

  • Which month it counts in: the month your ship-by date falls in, not the month it scanned.

  • Only shipped orders count. Courier and in-person handoff orders aren't included. Both rentals and purchases are included.

  • No shipping, no problem: if you didn't ship any orders in the month, this shows as N/A and counts as met.

  • Carrier delays after drop-off don't count against you. Once your package is scanned on time, it's on time, even if the carrier is slow to deliver.

  • Cancelled orders aren't counted as late shipments.

  • If your shipping label was upgraded and the ship-by date changed, the most recent ship-by date is used.

  • You meet the goal if 80% or more of your shipped orders were on time, or if you had 1 or fewer late shipments.

When you earn or lose the badge

Star Closet is decided once a month, on the 1st, based on the month that just ended. Your stats update every night so you can track your progress along the way.

What

When

Your stats update

Every night, showing your progress for the current month so far

Badge awarded or removed

Overnight on the 1st of each month, based on the previous month's final numbers

How long you keep it

The whole month. It won't change mid-month based on how this month is going

If you didn't meet the goals

The badge comes off on the 1st. There's no grace month

Getting it back

Meet every goal this month and you'll earn it again on the 1st of next month

Example: your October 1 badge is based on your September stats. You keep it for all of October. On November 1 it's renewed or removed based on your October stats.

Early in the month

It's normal for some goals to show as not met yet at the start of a month. For example, on October 2 you probably haven't had 3 transactions yet. That's fine. What matters is where you land by the end of the month.

Checking your stats

  1. Go to your closet.

  2. Find the Closet stats section and tap View stats next to it.

  3. You'll see whether you earned Star Closet this month, and a table of how you're tracking for the current month. The last column shows the Star Closet goal for each stat.

  4. Tap any stat to see a pop-up explaining what it means and how it's measured.

A stat showing N/A (for example, on-time shipping if you haven't shipped anything) counts as met. Support does not have visibility into your stats.

Where the badge shows

If you're a Star Closet, renters and buyers will see your badge:

  • On your closet page

  • On your item pages

  • As a pill next to your username

Tap the badge to see a short explanation of what it means and which month's stats it was based on.

Setting up your fit profile

You can add your height and sizes in Sizes & Style, or from the Fit profile row in My Closet. Use the Show on profile toggle in either place to make it public. That one toggle makes both your height and sizes visible.

Frequently asked questions

I was a Star Lender before. Why don't I have Star Closet? Star Closet has new requirements, including on-time shipping and a complete, public fit profile. Your old status doesn't carry over. Tap View stats in your Closet stats to see which goals you met last month.

I think I met everything. Why don't I have the badge? Check these in order: your app is on the newest version (close and reopen after updating), your fit profile has a height and at least one size and is set to public, you have a profile picture, and you had at least 3 active items on the 1st. Then check View stats to see if any performance goal was missed last month.

I got an email saying I'm one step away. What do I do? You met every performance goal last month but your fit profile wasn't complete or public. Add your height and at least one size in Sizes & Style, then turn on Show on profile. Your badge will unlock for this month.

I made my fit profile private and my badge disappeared. A public fit profile is required at all times to show the badge. Turn Show on profile back on and the badge will return.

I don't offer shipping. Will on-time shipping hurt me? No. If you didn't ship any orders in the month, on-time shipping shows N/A and counts as met. Courier and handoff orders are never included.

The carrier was slow. Does that count as late? No. On time is based on when your package was first scanned, not when it was delivered. If it was scanned by one business day after your ship-by date, it's on time.

A renter cancelled. Does that count against me? No. Only cancellations made by you, or by Support at your request, count toward your cancellation rate.

It's early in the month and I'm failing a goal. That's normal, especially for successful transactions. Your stats show progress for the month so far. What matters is where you are when the month ends.

When will my stats update? Every night. Today's activity will usually show up the next day.

I had a great month. When do I get the badge? Overnight on the 1st of next month. Badges only change on the 1st.

Do I need to link my Instagram or TikTok? Not right now. A linked social account isn't required for Star Closet.

Why do the reviews numbers say 95% when I have a few 3-star reviews? You meet the reviews goal if 95% or more are 4 stars or higher, or if you have 2 or fewer reviews under 4 stars. So a closet with only a couple of lower reviews still passes.

Can renters see my stats? No. Renters and buyers only see the badge. Your Star Closet tracking is only visible to you.
